Discussion focused on what’s next in the energy sector – from industry in terms of innovation and other advancements that affect energy development, and from Washington policymakers on Capitol Hill and within the administration.
Speakers included API President and CEO Jack Gerard; U.S. Reps. John Shimkus of Illinois, Marc Veasey of Texas and Ed Whitfield of Kentucky; former White House energy and climate change advisor Heather Zichal; House Energy and Commerce Committee Majority Chief Counsel Tom Hassenboehler; ClearView Energy Partners’ Kevin Book, the Manhattan Institute’s Mark Mills; and Houston Chronicle reporter Jennifer Dlouhy.

Mark Green joined API after a career in newspaper journalism, including 16 years as national editorial writer for The Oklahoman in the paper’s Washington bureau. Mark also was a reporter, copy editor and sports editor. He earned his journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma and master’s in journalism and public affairs from American University.
