Fuel has an article about a new report showing the U.S. oil and natural gas industry is simply booming in terms of job creation:

The U.S. oil and gas industry added new jobs faster than the total private sector during the year that ended in June, jumping 2.6 percent over the previous year and pushing the industry’s roster past 1 million jobs nationwide, according to a new report.

The report by the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association shows eight of nine oil and natural gas sectors measured by the federal government expanded this year – largely thanks to fracking:

The Austin (TX) trade group credited the advent of horizontal drilling and advances in hydraulic fracturing with a surge in oil and gas production that has levitated payrolls in the industry. Unlocking new resource plays has pushed U.S. oil production to a 15-year high at 6.5 million barrels per day, according to the Energy Information Agency.

Job creation is one benefit of increased domestic oil and natural gas production. There’s also economic growth stemming from energy activity and increased revenues for governments. Still, jobs mean opportunity for individuals and families to prosper and realize their dreams. America’s oil and natural gas industry is fueling job creation and can do more. As the video below shows, much more is possible with the right energy policies in place:
