Good video from American Enterprise Institute energy scholar Steven Hayward on the path to greater U.S. energy security. Nice graphics, spot-on message.

Up front, Hayward notes that the United States is the world's largest holder of combined oil, natural gas and coal resources. That's right, No. 1 - which certainly comports with a pair of studies out this week on our overall energy inventory and the vast energy and economic promise of shale.

Yet, Hayward says, access to these resources have been restricted for 25 years, making the U.S. "uncompetitive" with the rest of the world while impacting consumers and preventing job creation.

Check out the video to see Hayward's keys to unlocking these resources and the benefits that could be realized. Hint: think access and 1 million.
